  2. How do I run for student council? • INFORM YOUR TEACHER • CREATE A POSTER DISPLAYING YOUR NAME AND A SLOGAN • PREPARE A SPEECH FOR THE CLASS • PRESENT SPEECH • EARN THE MOST VOTES FROM YOUR HOMEROOM

  3. HOW LONG SHOULD MY SPEECH BE? • AS LONG AS YOU NEED IT TO BE. • YOU SHOULD: • DESCRIBE YOURSELF • TELL YOUR CLASS WHY YOU ARE QUALIFIED

  4. HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN WIN? • 2 MEMBERS WILL BE SELECTED FROM EACH HOMEROOM. • THERE WILL ALSO BE 2 MEMBERS SELECTED AS “BACK-UPS” • IN TOTAL, THERE WILL BE 4 STUDENTS FROM EACH HOMEROOM.

  5. ARE THERE ANY OTHER RULES I SHOULD KNOW? • YOU CAN NOT GIVE ANYTHING AWAY TO YOUR CLASS. • NO BUTTONS, NO PENCILS, NO BAKED GOODS, NOTHING!!

  6. ONCE YOU ARE ON STUDENT COUNCIL, WHAT HAPPENS? • YOU ATTEND MEETINGS ONCE A MONTH • (MEETINGS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AND ARE USUALLY ONCE A MONTH) • YOU PLAN ACTIVITIES FOR THE SCHOOL • YOU PRESENT INFORMATION TO YOUR TEAM
