NSF “Broader Impacts” Review Criteria • Advancement of discovery and understanding while promoting teaching, training and learning • Participation of underrepresented groups • Enhancement of infrastructure for research and education • Dissemination of results to enhance scientific and technological understanding • Benefits to society Any proposal that does not address these criteria in the Project Summary will be returned without review.

  6. Case Studies in Mentoring • Divide into small groups ( ~4 people each) • Choose one case study • As a group, identify the key issues and decide how you would address the situation. (Please remember the rules of 3) • Select 2 people in your group to role play a conversation in front of the class
