  3. Mechanism of Injury • Skiing • Fall on outstretched hand • Twisting the heads off of animals

  4. Treatment • Partial tear: Immobilizing the joint with a splint • Complete tear: surgery

  5. Recovery • Splint must be worn at all times • Full activities can be resumed three months after surgery
