  3. Access Codes • First-time use of the Microsoft E-Learning site requires submission of an Access Code to unlock your E-Learning courses. • The Access Code facilitates distribution of e-learning courses as determined by your administrator/instructor.

Getting Started • Use the web browser to access the following address: http://itacademy.microsoftelearning.com/ • Click on the Windows Live ID sign in button in the upper-right corner of the web page. • There are 2 options available at this point dependent upon whether or not you have an existing MSN or Microsoft account.

  5. Windows Live ID • If you already have a Hotmail address, MSN e-mail address, or Microsoft Passport, it is already a Windows Live ID. • Simply sign in to Microsoft by entering your E-mail address and password in the right panel and clicking the Sign In button.

  6. New Live ID • If you do not already have a Windows Live ID, click on the Sign up now button in the right panel of the screen shown on the next slide and follow the instructions to register a new account. • You can use any existing e-mail address as the Windows Live ID account. • When all instructions are completed, a message will appear as shown below indicating that a VERIFICATION EMAIL has been sent to your email address. • You must accept and complete the verification process before accessing the E-Learning materials.

  9. Check E-mail and Verify • You should see a verification confirmation. • Click the Continue button.

  10. Signing In • The sign in process is required each time you enter the IT Academy Student Online Campus or Microsoft E-Learning sites. • If needed, fill in the online form from Microsoft and click the Continue button. • Once the sign in process is complete, a first-time visitor must enter the e-learning Access Code provided by your administrator/instructor.

ACCESSING YOUR ONLINE COURSES • You should be signed in at http://itacademy.microsoftelearning.com to enter an Access Code. • From the Take TrainingPortal, choose toEnter AccessCode and complete theAccess Code Redemption processby entering thealpha-numerice-learning AccessCode. NOTE: Access codes are case sensitive and may include hyphens. Enter the Access Code exactly as furnished by Microsoft IT Academy to enable access to the site.

EU License Agreement • After entering your Access Code, confirm that you have read and accepted the End User License Agreement by selecting the checkbox, enter your school email address, and then click Enter to submit your entry. • When your Access Code is received successfully, you will be directed to the Microsoft E-Learning Site as shown on the next slide. Each Access Code is associated with one E-learning Library of couresas shown.

  13. My Learning/Learning Catalog • Click on My Learning to access course material for which you are enrolled as determined by the administrator/instructor. • If this is your first time accessing the content, click on Learning Catalog to select your course content.

  14. Learning Catalog • If needed, select the option to “update your catalog language preference” to English. This will filter the courses in the catalog. • Select checkbox(es) for the desired course(s) and "Add to My Learning" to add product(s) to your My Learning portal. Click the Add to My Learning button at the bottom of the catalog screen. Once you have selected the course(s) you wish to use for training and have added them to My Learning, click on the My Learning tab at the top of the screen. You are now ready to begin the training course(s).

  15. Begin/Resume Course • In My Learning, click on the name of the course you wish to begin and click the Begin Course or Resume Course if you are returning to My Learning.

  17. BEGIN To begin course activities, click on the lesson title link or the Begin button on the Content-tab page.

RETURN VISITS TO THE MICROSOFTE-LEARNING SITE • After you have submitted your e-learning Access Code as described above, submission of the code is not required again unless entering an Access Code for additional Library course content, and you may go directly to the E-Learning site following sign in. • To access the site directly, go to the e-learning area of the Student Online Campus at: http://itacademy.microsoftelearning.com/ • Click the sign in button in the upper-right corner of the page and sign in with your Microsoft Windows Live ID email address and password. • Continue to the Microsoft E-Learning site by clicking GO to access the Take Training portal. Select My Learning to continue course training.

  19. SUPPORT • For E-Learning support click Contact Us at the bottom of the E-Learning Central Home page for live chat, email contact or call 1-877-383-2829 for assistance. • Also, refer to the E-Learning Central FAQ by clicking the Help button below the Sign Out button at the top of the screen.

Test Your Computer • Test each computer you use for minimum system requirements and needed downloads by accessing http://itacademy.microsoftelearning.com and clicking the E-Learning Help (FAQ) button. • Then, select "How do I know if my system is compatible?" and select the Click here to Test Your Computer option. • Click the Scan My System button, and follow all instructions for updates and downloads. When completed correctly click Scan Again and all Status items will appear with a green check box.

  21. Click Scan My System. • Complete any needed downloads and/or upgrades. • For Labs, the version of Microsoft Office must be installed, i.e. 2003 or 2007.
