ROLE OF ATHLETIC TRAINER • PREVENT ATHLETIC INJURY/ILLNESS • EVALUATE INJURY & ILLNESS • FIRST-AID EMERGENCY CARE • TREAT AND REHABILITATE INJURIES • COUNSEL AND PROVIDE GUIDANCE • CONDUCT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS • DIRECT CONDITIONING PROGRAMS • ASSIST IN FITTING EQUIPMENT • SUBMIT ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

  11. QUESTIONS/DISCUSSION • WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF A “SPORT MEDICINE TEAM.” JUSTIFY INCLUDING PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE THE UNIVERSITY OR SCHOOL. • EXPLAIN WHY ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION PROGRAMS HAVE A SELECTIVE ADMISSIONS POLICY AS WELL AS AN INCREASINGLY RIGOROUS CURRICULUM.
