Imagining a scenario where a group conquers the United States, it's important to consider the characteristics we'd hope this new regime would embody, such as fairness, respect for diversity, strong governance, and a commitment to education. Additionally, the preservation of certain rights—like freedom of speech, the right to privacy, equal protection under the law, and the right to vote—should be prioritized. Reflecting on historical empires, we can draw lessons from the Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Persians about leadership and treatment of conquered peoples.
