Cooking with LUV: A Culinary Philanthropy Initiative by the Texas Chef Association

The Texas Chef Association (TCA) in partnership with Southwest Airlines presents "Cooking with LUV," a charitable program from February 14 to December 14, 2010. TCA members can earn LUV points by volunteering for their chosen charities, accumulating points based on their hours served. Members with a minimum of 100 hours will compete for a round trip ticket on Southwest Airlines. This initiative aims to enhance TCA's charitable impact, establish a quantifiable method for community service, and highlight TCA's leadership role.

  2. Mission Statement • TCA’s goal to better serve our community by uniting the statewide philanthropic efforts of the Texas Chef Association in partnership with Southwest Airlines.

Program Details • “Cooking with Luv” • February 14, 2010 - December 14, 2010 • TCA members who contribute their time to “Cooking with LUV” participating charities will accumulate LUV points. • A member from each chapter with the most LUV points (minimum 100 hours) on December 14th will win a round trip ticket on Southwest Airlines.

Goals • To increase the impact of charitable activities of TCA by partnering with Southwest Airlines. • To establish a method to quantify, refine and channel the efforts of our organizations. • To showcase our leadership position within our communities. • To provide valuable publicity and recognition for TCA and ACF.

  5. HOW TO EARN LUV POINTS • CHEF’S CHOICE OF CHARITIES = 1 POINT FOR EACH HOUR WORKED • CHAPTER & STATE APPROVED CHARITIES = 2 POINTS FOR EACH HOUR WORKED Kids Cafe • ACF & NATIONAL APPROVED CHARITIES = 3 POINTS FOR EACH HOUR WORKED “Chef and Child” “Chefs Move to the Schools”
