  1. Europeannorms In artificallighting, normsregulatemainly indoor work places for lighting level, uniformity, color rendering (CRI) and glare (UGR). Emergency lighting is also regulated and is an interim norm output for exterior workplaces (on site, ...). The different European norms are listed below • NBN EN 12665 (2002) - Light and lighting - Basic terms and criteria for specifying lighting requirements • NBN EN 12193 (10/1999) - Light and lighting - Lighting for sports facilities • NBN EN 12464-1 (2003) ) - Light and lighting - Lighting of work places - Part 1: indoor workplaces. 2. Lighting standards Interior workplaces Norms separate requirements for each local and its functionality. For the office, the zone around the working plane have to respect specificsrules On the working plane, the targetis 500 lux and U (Imin/Imea) = 0.7 – 0.6 And for the peripheral zone (50 cm around the task), the target is 300 lux and U = 0.5 - 0.4

  3. Lighting standards Exteriorworkplaces The norm states, for 16 categories of outdoor work places, the requirements for the illumination on the reference surface, uniformity of illumination on the working area, glare index, the color rendering index. The table mentioned above presents the requirements on construction sites Source : http://www.bbri.be/antenne_norm/energie/pdf/Eclairage_des_lieux_de_travail_exterieur_2004.pdf
