COMMISSIONING MEETING – AUGUST 2008 - W3 PRS/SPD STATUS COSMICS: • We recorded so far 1.2 Million cosmics events with a somehow homogeneous purity (15 Hz) but different XCAL and SPD timing conditions. XCAL moved by 6 ns, then go back to the original value but tuned for upstream tracks. Each time, the TAE analysis saw the changes [fortunately] • These events (inclusively) are currently being analysed to produce a first intercalibration of the channels within a tube (might be possible even in the inner region). To be reported on the end of August meeting. • PRS pedestals are stable. PS/SPD COMMISSIONING

He changed our filters and he measured an increased general flow. According to him, mostly beneficial to us. Not obvious on the plots. 25/07 14/08 15/08 PS/SPD COMMISSIONING

COMMISSIONING MEETING – AUGUST 2008 - W3 PRS/SPD TRIGGER PATH • Tremendous progresses. • All the internal parameters are now set inot recipes. • Managed to get an electron or a photon trigger (at the Hz) • Yet, many problems found. Some fixed. Some not. The most worrying is related to half-boards. Under scrutiny. • On the usefulness of noise events: the VFE events were/are used to debug the system. • SPD theroretical phaser values are in teh electronics. The alignement is under study. PS/SPD COMMISSIONING

  8. COMMISSIONING MEETING – AUGUST 2008 - W3 PRS/SPD HV SYSTEM • PRS/SPD has an ECAL-like design. • The +/-6 V is better stabilized. Yet, it’s worth measuring the (un)-stability. • A scope is currently installed on 2 channels to get long term (few hours) stability. • LED measurements are foreseen. But not sure we should expect much from there. PS/SPD COMMISSIONING

Once tehre, align BCID in FEB/Tell1. • Move the VFE reset in an acceptable range. • Offline: • Inter-calibrate HV. • Inter-calibrate channels within a tube. • LED data PS/SPD COMMISSIONING
