  2. Seminar 1 (2) STUDY SKILLS COPING WITH LECTURES Theproblems with lectures: 1. Length. 2. Lack of a “song and dance routine”. 3. All material is new. 4. There’s great volumes of it. 5. Possibly an uncongenial environment. 6. Gobbledegook. 7. Possibly no student lecturer interaction you are therefore feeling “passive”. 8. Motivating yourself to listen.

  3. Seminar 1 (3) STUDY SKILLS COPING WITH LECTURES Some suggestions: 1. Half time break / take notes / water-re-hydrate. 2. They’re lecturers, not teachers (as at college or School). 3. Take notes. 4. Need to do independent study.

  4. Seminar 1 (3) STUDY SKILLS COPING WITH LECTURES Some suggestions: 5. Be 10 minutes early-get the best seat / have a little Cushion / bottle of water / sweeties for comfort. 6. Write down, look up in a subject dictionary / glossary / make own glossary.
