  13. Membership in CCPA • Full member Category A ($150) • Master’s degree in counselling or related field • Institution needs to be recognized by the AUCC

  14. Student Member ($75) • Student presently enrolled in a counselling (or a related field) program at an institution recognized by the AUCC • Membership fees are subject to change with notice

Certification - Aim • To establish a process and National recognition for the title of Canadian Certified Counsellor • To demonstrate to the public our Counsellors’ high level of professionalism • To maintain a directory of Canadian Certified Counsellors • To promote professional responsibility

  16. To ensure professional visibility with employers, individual clients, colleagues from other professions • To promote professional development of counsellors • To facilitate professional recognition when we advocate for access to third-party payment eligibility with Health Insurance companies

  17. Maintaining Certification • Annually renew your full membership status with CCPA • Pay annual fees of $65 • Meet CCPA professional development standards: • A minimum of 24 CEU hours *(Continuing Education Unit) related to the field of counselling, within every 3 year period
