  4. EPICE Seminar • Two EPICS Seminar were held at IHEP hosted by KEKB and IHEP • Second Asia EPICS Seminar (22-31 Aug. 2001) • Third Asia EPICS Seminar (20-22 Aug. 2002) • Chinese EPICS training course was held at IHEP in Feb. 2003 hosted by AC/IHEP

The second Asia EPICS Seminar • From 22-31 August of 2001 at IHEP • 78 people attended the meeting • 9 experts from KEKB, SLAC, LANL,Korea • Chinese attendees from IHEP, SSRF, IMP, CIAE, CAEP, AIOEM,Tsinghua University etc. • EPICS training course in first 5 days • Students made exercise on EPICS platform

  6. The second Asia EPICS Seminar • Exchange the experiences of using EPICS in the last 3 days • Status report from • ANL, IHEP, SNS, KEKB • SLAC, SSRF, POSTECH • Chinese young people understand the EPICS • Have got new progress of EPICS research • Valuable for design of BEPCII control system.

The Third Asia EPICS Seminar • From 20-22 of August 2002 at IHEP • About 40 Chinese people and 7 experts from KEKB, ANL and BESSY attended • Background: Project BEPCII has been started • Major aim: • to get advice of the foreign expert • discuss system development technology • solve the problem we have met during the BEPCII control system development

The Third Asia EPICS Seminar • IHEP people introduced the progress of the BEPCII control system • “Progress of BEPCII control system” • “Plan of the Power Supply Control” • “EPICS progress at IHEP” • “Linac Control” • “BEPCII Timing System” • “Oracle Database for BEPCII” • “Phase Control for Linac Accelerrator”

  9. The Third Asia EPICS Seminar • Foreign experts presented their talks: • “Linux based IOC support” • “Using SAD and Python with EPICS” • “EPICS at DESY and CANbus detailed” • “EPICS Database interface Library” • “Application of EPICS 3.14 on Linux” etc.

  10. The Third Asia EPICS Seminar • Discussions • High-level application transfer issues, • Selection of standard products • Selection of EPICS host software issues • EPICS CANbus driver development • Network design • CVS and File server

  11. The Third Asia EPICS Seminar • The talks and discussions were very useful for the IHEP people to construct the BEPCII Control System • Some problem we met in system development have been solved

  12. The Fourth Asia EPICS Seminar • From 1-5 March 2004 in Hefei, China • IHEP has sent 6 young people to attend • They took EPICS training course • BEPC2 control group gave a talk titled “Status of EPICS Based Control System for BEPCII”.

Chinese EPICS training course • From Feb 26-28 of 2003 at IHEP • More than 50 people from Accelerator center, BSRF, and Tsinghua University • EPICS training course in Chinese language • Teachers are from BEPC control group • The contents of the course is same as the English course • It is helpful for BEPCII construction

  14. Contribution of EPICS Seminar • Asia EPICS Seminars provided a chance to create a good collaboration among Chinese people and experts around the world • The experiences and advice of the foreign experts are very valuable for us. • The training course have spread the EPICS in China

  27. Technology Exchanging - High Level Application transferring • BEPCII control system will be developed by EPICS • High level applications are transferred from KEKB • IHEP have got the application package in JAN. 2003

  33. Visitation in 2001 • IHEP has sent Ms. Lei Ge to visit KEKB for 3 months, working on Epics research • 9 foreign expert visited IHEP for 10 days each to attend the EPICS Seminar

  34. Visitation in 2002 • IHEP has sent 3 young people to visit KEKB for 3 months per person • Mr. Xu Shifu, Mr. Ye Qiang and Mr. Gao Wenchun • working on EPICS driver development and learning EPICS • 7 foreign expert visited IHEP for 3 days each to attend the EPICS Seminar

Visitation in 2003 • IHEP has sent 2 young people to visit KEKB for 3 months per person • Mr Huang Song and Mr. Xue Peng • learning EPICS driver development and SAD for Control System development and high level application transfer • Dr Noboru Yamamoto visited IHEP, discussing the high level application transfer issue

Visitation in 2004 • IHEP has sent 3 young people to visit KEKB for 3 months per person • Mr. Li Gang, Mr. Wang Hao and Mr. Guo Zhijun. • They are learning EPICS driver development, EPICS GUI Creation and BPM in EPICS environment • IHEP sent 6 people attend the Fourth Asia EPICS Seminar held in Hefei, China
