  4. The Mountain • Mt. Menalon • Mountain: Ostrakina • Altitude: 1600 m. • The Mainalon of Gortynia ski center is located at Ostrakina mountaintop of Menalon mountain

  5. The Mountain Slopes • 5 slopes in total • More specifically: • 1 red and in continuation green (near the lift Arktouro) • 1 which is at the beginning black and in continuation red (Aetos 1), with stable inclination and great width (near the lift Aetos) • 2 starting black and in continuation red (Aetos 2 and Aetos 3) (peripheral to Aetos) • 1 black at the beginning, which becomes red (east, in the left of Aetos)

  6. The Mountain Lifts • 3 sliding: • Aetos - 600 m. in length • Arktouros - 380 m. in length • Krios - 160 m. in length • 1 baby-lift (Chelona), near the new chalet

  7. The Mountain Other facilities/services • New wooden chalet (500 m2) • Snow park, in the east side of the chalet for snow tubes, snowmobiles, 4x4 tricycles • Snowboard park with jump slopes • Ski/snowboard school for beginners with ski/snowboard teachers.

  8. The Mountain Operation period • The ski center facilities operate daily from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Useful notes • The Mainalon of Gortynia Ski Center is the nearest ski center to Athens. The retail company Klaoudatos has been operating the center for the past 30 years. With the re-operating of Mainalon of Gortynia ski center for the winter period of 2004-2005 only the front side of the mountain is to be exploited (for next year, skiing will be expanded to the back side of the mountain as well).

  9. Accommodation In the village of VYTINA there are two hotel choices (300m from each other): AEGLI HOTEL €68 twin €90 triple VILLA VALOS HOTEL €70 twin €90 triple
