Enhancing Safety with a New Lockout/Tagout System in Fleet Operations
In the pursuit of safety excellence, the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system is pivotal for the Fleet Operations team led by Mike Buckner. Traditional LOTO practices are crucial, particularly with over 24,000 clearances annually across 47,000 devices. Despite a robust policy foundation established in 2008, the current system, over 15 years old, is less reliable and unsupported by vendors. Embracing advanced technologies, we are transitioning to a task-based LOTO system to ensure the utmost safety for our employees and contractors. A phased implementation is set for early 2015, emphasizing a consistent process tailored to today's safety standards.
