  2. UNIDO Industrial Energy Efficiency Programme Background The project is also funded by The Government, represented by the dti, the DoE and DEA The Government of Switzerland, represented by SECO UK Aid – DFID The project is implemented by UNIDO- who manages the bulk of the funds to roll out the project The dti also funds the local project personnel through the NCPC-SA A 4-year Project started in 2010 The project is hosted at the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC-SA) Business stakeholders -BUSA and NBI serve on the Project Steering Committee 2

  3. Industrial Energy Efficiency Project Thematic focus areas Energy management systems (EnMS) and standards (ISO 50001) A system which enables an organisation to take a systematic approach towards achieving continual improvement of energy performance, energy efficiency and energy conservation. Energy systems optimization (steam, pumps, etc.) Shift the FOCUS from component optimization (5-10% saving potential) to system optimization (40-50%) 3

  4. Industrial Energy Efficiency Project Framework South Africa
