  4. Edgar Allan Poe Biography Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19th, in Boston. From 1815 to 1826 he went to school in England. He did well in the army and made the rank of sergeant major at the age of 19. because he won a contest for writing “The Manuscript Found In a Bottle”, he finally got a job. Poe’s wife died from tuberculosis on January 30th. Poe left New York City and visited John Sartain in Philadelphia. He joins the “Sons of Temperance” in an effort to stop drinking because he was an addict. He was found half conscious and

  5. Poe’s biography (continued) Five poems he wrote were a Dream, A Dream Within A Dream, Annabel Lee, Silence, and Song. Five stories The Assignation, The Black Cat, The Masque of the Red Death, The murders in the rue, Morgue. There were several theories of how he passed away, but the one I find most reasonable was the theory of medical and disease. He was found half conscious and taken to a hospital. Edgar Allan Poe died October 7, 1849.

  6. My theory on Poe’s Death I think it’s the disease and medical theory. I think this because I read in the article that it was a believed combination of alcohol dehydrogenase deficiency syndrome and brain disease explain Poe’s problem with alcohol, his fits of craziness, and his all of a sudden death. This is the theory that I find most reasonable for the cause of Poe’s death.

I liked it because it was easy for me to visualize the setting and what the person in the mask did to the people at the party held by Prince Prospero.
