Pack-it Technology: Versatile Internet Connectivity Solution

Pack-it Technology offers a highly versatile Internet connectivity solution for non-Internet enabled devices. It seamlessly interfaces with RS232, Ethernet, switches, sensors, and relays, using IEEE-assigned MAC addresses. The device is network configurable and upgradeable to RS485. It provides digital I/O and RS232 interface to the Internet, with DHCP readiness and domain name usage. Pack-it recognizes X10 RS232 handshakes, forwards data, and transmits MAC addresses for data origination. Supported protocols include DHCP, DNS, UDP, ICMP, and more, removing the need for static IP addresses. The Pack-it technology can be configured for various hardware setups like Ethernet server/database, relay bank, and parallel I/O, demonstrating its identification and DHCP-enabled features.

  1. Pack-it Technology • Highly versatile Internet connectivity solution for non-Internet enabled devices. • Seamless interface with RS232, Ethernet, switches, sensors and relays. • Uses IEEE assigned MAC addresses. • Network configurable. • RS485 up-gradable.

  2. Features • Provides both an 8 bit digital I/O and asynchronous RS232 interface to the Internet. • DHCP ready and requires zero Internet Protocol configuration out of the box. • Capable of using domain names rather than static IP’s in order to transmit data to a destination host.

  3. Features • Recognizes and acknowledges X10 RS232 handshakes, then proceeds to forward X10 RS232 data. • Identification mechanism optionally transmits the MAC address at the start of each UDP message in order to provide a data origination mechanism for the remote host.

  4. Supported Protocols • Pack-it Configuration • DHCP • DNS • UDP • ICMP • IPv4 • ARP • Ethernet

  5. Pack-it removes the need to have a static IP address at the destination. Software Configuration
