  1. Personal Improvement Project QC HSCI 586 Fall 2005

  2. I hereby grant permission to Dr. Alemi to post this presentation on the web.

  3. Project Goal • To curb my television viewing hours on a daily basis • Specifically, I would like to limit my television viewing to no more than 3 hours in a given 24 hour time period, for a total of 21 hours or less in a week

  4. Process Owner Checklist Following is a checklist that I reviewed in determining if there were other process owners involved in this effort. • Do you share entertainment media with this person on a daily basis?     • Do you see this person daily or live with this person? • Do you need to consider this person’s timetable as you think through yours?     • Does this person accompany you in watching television?     • Can this person’s decisions affect time of, equipment for, or other resources needed for your entertainment?     • If you changed your environment (e.g. discarded your TV), would it affect this person?     • Have you implicitly or explicitly given this person permission to make certain decisions on your behalf?     • Does this person affect how and when you socialize with others?

  5. Improvement Team • Based on the answers to the previous questions, I determined that there are no other individuals that are process owners • As I currently reside by myself, the solitary participant in this personal improvement effort is me • I am the only process owner involved in this project, and as a result, I am singularly accountable for any successes and failures.

  17. Future Plans for Improvement To continue my success with this personal improvement effort, I will do the following. • Continue to occupy my time with the non-television related activities used in the project (i.e., work, studying, etc) • Engage in other activities that will divert me from watching too much television (i.e. exercise, dog walking, etc.)
