  4. Location • The girls are attending camp at Moody Gardens and will • Stay in hotel rooms. If you would like to carpool or follow • caravan style, please coordinate that with the other parents. • We need each girl to have lunch prior to meeting at the hotel • convention center on Sunday at 12pm. When you arrive, • please be sure to have locks on the luggage with the keys being in your daughter’s backpack as all luggage/bags will • be stored in the convention center until the rooms are • available. The Moody Gardens Hotel is located at One • Hope Blvd. We suggest calling (800-582-4673) or going • online to the website to view the map of the area and • obtain directions: • http://www.moodygardens.com/hotel_golf/

  5. Rooming • The girls will be rooming with their pom-pals and families. • There will be four girls to a room sharing two double or • possibly queen beds. You may want to coordinate with • the other moms to share the cost of snacks and bottled • water for the four girls in your daughter’s room. We are • responsible on the first day for taking inventory of any • damaged or broken items in the room. These inventories • will be used to assess the rooms prior to check-out. All • rooms must be clean and ready for the next group coming • in on Wednesday. • Coolers are allowed in the rooms, but it might be difficult • getting enough ice to keep things cold.

  6. Backpacks • The girls will be walking to scheduled places throughout the • day. Each girl needs to take a backpack/bag with water, • snacks, room key, inhaler (if applicable), etc. on these • walks. It is their responsibility to keep up with all their items. • It is preferred that each girl have their own bag and not rely • on others to carry their things. Each bag should be easily • identified with each girl’s name on the bag. • Phones • We want the camp experience to be a great bonding time for • the cheerleaders. The girls will not have their phones on them throughout the day and we will take them up each night so • that the girls will actually get some rest. Each evening before • bed the girls will have access to their phones. • If there is an emergency, please call Mrs. Rhody at • 832-444-6970.

  7. Meals & Money • There will be two meals provided each day by the camp. • The meals are served buffet style. There should be enough • of a variety that everyone should be able to find something • to eat. Lunch will be served at approximately 11:30 – 1:30 • and dinner at approximately 4:30 - 6:30. These times • reinforce the need for packing healthy snacks. The girls will • have some access to ice, however, it will be from a hotel ice • machine shared by many cheerleaders. For drinks we suggest \ • bringing water bottles or jugs that can be filled up at a water • fountain or Gatorade. The number of drinks or snacks you • pack should be according to your daughter’s needs. • Please remember to pack healthy snacks which do not • require refrigeration. • There will be vending machines available for the girls. Pack • change because some machines will not take dollars and • there is no place available to make change. There will be • other schools attending this camp and staying in the same • hotel, so please do not rely on vending machines to supply • snacks throughout the duration of camp. Starbucks may • also be available to the girls as well. • At some point during camp the girls will have the opportunity • to visit the NCA Spirit Shop to purchase items. The spirit • shop prefers exact change or credit cards. How much you • decide to send with your daughter is up to your discretion. It • will be her responsibility to keep up with all money or credit • she takes to camp.
