  2. Introduce sigNAL words • Introduce signal words such as: I predict, I infer, I think, perhaps, maybe, probably etc.

  3. Gallery Walk • Use pictures from old calendars, Christmas cards, magazines and post them around the classroom. • Have the students walk around and infer what the picture is about.

  4. Activity: Brown Bag • Have students bring in a brown bag with things about themselves. • They can predict what they think is in the bags by giving students clues. • They may also predict which bag belongs to each student.

  5. Reflection-Each one, teach one • Students will tell what they learned in each activity with a partner.
