  2. Ms. Hayes wants to make some pillows for seats in her classroom. Ms. Hayes has a problem and she needs your help. She found three different designs for small pillows. The real problem is…………each design says to use a different amount of fabric for each pillow. She need to know how many pillows she can make for each of the designs, so she will know how many pillows she could have for her classroom.

  3. Today we are going to solve some problems about making pillows. Please do your work with a partner on your partner work mat. Be sure to model using a picture and an equation (number sentence) to represent your work.

  4. Design #1 Ms. Hayes wants to make some pillows for her classroom. Each pillow takes 3/8 of a yard of fabric. Ms. Hayes has 3 yards of fabric to use for this design. How many pillows can she make?

  5. Design #2 Ms. Hayes wants to make some pillows for her classroom. Each pillow takes 2/3 of a yard of fabric. Ms. Hayes has 4 yards of fabric to use for this design. How many pillows can she make?

  6. Design #3 Ms. Hayes wants to make some pillows for her classroom. Each pillow takes 3/8 of a yard of fabric. Ms. Hayes has 10 ½ yards of fabric to use for this design. How many pillows can she make?
