  2. Timeline

  3. What has worked well • Existing systems: Routes to Work, Council systems • The system is simple to use, user friendly • Relationship with Hanlon – single points of contact • Dedicated mailbox for user help • Hanlon mirrors our employability service – referrals, multiple interventions, register just once • Projects are happy

  4. Problems encountered • Resources – no dedicated team to implement the system • Users – varying ability to use a PC • System development – new functions added • Demand from project users for reports • Quality of data – the cleansing begins • Full functionality of the system – distance travelled

  5. The Analysis • We know that… • Jobcentre Plus is the most cited referral source into the model – greater publicity from North Lanarkshire’s Working? • Almost one quarter (1,114) clients have no qualifications – referrals to Literacy and Numeracy • The referral module is working well – over 180 referrals from health projects to Routes to Work • We are engaging with 44% from the 15% most deprived areas – case for targeted interventions?

  6. The Future • Cost implications – will partners be happy to pay • Roll out across the Council and other partners • Future of the CPPs and employability services • Getting the most out of the system – The Portal – allowing businesses and clients to register
