  2. Week 1 What do we believe? Step 1: Once you have interviewed 10 people put the information into a copy of the table. Step 2: Put the information in the form of a Bar graph similar to the one shown. Quick Question: What other types of graphs are there? GTP: Must put the information into two or three types of graph.

  3. Design Theory Divine Proportion PHI Task: Using a tape measure and calculator: 1: measure from the tip of your partners head to the floor. Then divide that by the distance from your belly button to the floor. 2: measure the distance from your shoulder to your figure tips. Then divide by the distance from your elbow to your finger tips. 3: Measure the distance from your hip to the floor. Then divide by the distance from your knee to the floor. 4: Measure distance from the knuckle to the end of the finger. Then divide by the distance from the finger joint to the end of the finger. What do you notice about the answers? How might a monotheist use this to argue for the existence of God? Week 2

  4. Jigsaw: God does not exist. Do you agree? Some people believe that God does not exist. These people are called atheists. They may argue that God doe snot exist because of all the suffering in the world. They may use the design argument as evidence to support their viewpoint. Some Monotheists and polytheists would argue that God does exists. They may state that events such as the September 11th 2001 disaster is evidence that God does not exist because if he did he would not have let this happen. The design argument suggests that because the ‘make up’ of natural elements in the world such as humans or the rain cycle are complicated and organised it would appear that they have been designed by some greater being. On the other hand On the other hand is a connective. A connective is a word or group of words which join two or more things together Want other connectives can you list that have the same meaning as on the other hand? Task: Answer the above question by rearranging the cards so that they make sense.

The Doctor replies: “I have worked on many brains and never seen anything that resembles a thought”. • What does this say about the existence of God?
