  14. Graduation • PCMD graduation hosted in Plymouth this year, on July 18 • All Medicine students have jobs. 10% awarded distinction or merit • Medical Sciences graduation will take place at Streatham on July 14 • Nearly 90% of Medical Sciences graduates awarded a 2:1 and 1st

University rankings Guardian University Guide 2015 • Exeter maintains12th place overall • Medicine: Exeter 8th/31 • Biosciences (including Medical Sciences) – 6th/99 • Medical Imaging – 1st among MI courses (2nd/68 in Health Professions table) Complete University Guide 2015 • Exeter maintains 10th place overall • Medicine: Exeter 27th/31 • Medical Sciences – not included • Medical Imaging – 2nd/29 Times Good University Guide and QS World Rankings due out in September and the Times Higher World Rankings in October

International Medical University • International Medical University (IMU) of Malaysia • Founded 1992 • Malaysian programme • International Programme • >30 university partners in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, US, Ireland, China and UK, including Warwick, Liverpool and Nottingham • Students spend five semesters at IMU before transferring to Exeter for years three to five of the Medicine programme • High quality, well-prepared students • Thanks to Jude Segerlund and Jim Myton for helping organise recent visit from IMU Executive, including their President

  19. Medical Imaging • Welcome to Medical Imaging staff! • Governance will transfer to the Medical School in August • Physical move will take place from 2015 (into South Cloisters) • Medical Imaging Guardian Rankings • 1st among MI courses (2nd/68 in Health Professions table)

South Cloisters progress • Work now well under way • Major refurbishment of Giraffe House to create student study space • New storey to be added to support researchcapacity building • Four-storey extension, to include: • New teaching and learning space • New home for Medical Imaging • Completion: Spring 2015 • Some noise inevitable, but working hard to minimise disruption

University Professional Services • Professional Services Management Group – Development WorkshopHeld on 11/12 June 2014; final session: 8 July 2014 • Looking at management and organisation structures going forward • Context: services that are cost effective and high quality in a much more challenging financial environment • £10M of savings sought within PS as part of creation of £25M headroom investment - required over next 5 years for Exeter to remain competitive
