  15. Canadian Patients • Because of the cost of care, Canadians that are able to access our services usually have disposable income • We have marketed our services in Ottawa, targeting residents with upper level incomes • Strong relationship with the US Embassy in Ottawa

Canadian Experience • Highest volume of Canadian patients occurred about 6 years ago when a chemotherapy drug was unavailable in Canada • OHIP paid to have Canadians treated in our Cancer Center • OHIP would contact our Cancer Center and request a quote for the type of care needed. Once approved, they paid for the patient’s care • For other services, patient works with OHIP to try to get services covered

Accessing our Services • Many services require physician order • Can become a patient of a U.S. physician • In some cases, Claxton-Hepburn’s Chief Medial Officer will work with a Canadian physician to order tests/exam • Accept American insurances, otherwise payment is required at time of service
