Does Education Pay Off? • People with more education usually make more than people with less education. • Unemployment is less among those with more education. • As a class – make some estimates on what you think the unemployment rate is for each group and also estimate what you think the average weekly earnings are for each group. • Doctoral Degree ???? • Bachelors Degree???? • AA Degree???? • Let’s see…..

Let’s check out some jobs. • Everyone please take a copy of the top jobs in the United States (packet of papers with a key on top). • This is a different way to look at careers – not based on your interests – but money and time in school. • There are MANY things to consider when selecting a career. • And it may/will change many times in your lifetime. • This information is a bit outdated – but it’s the format and the job exposure we want you to get. • Updated info can be obtained from a link later in presentation.
