  1. My name is Ione Araujo Costa Newcomer,I am from Brazil.

  2. Thanksgiving Thanksgiving is a day for family and bountiful food. Because of the persistence of Sarah Josepha Hale it’s became a permanent national celebration.

  3. Finally a national day of Thanksgiving • At 1863 president Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday of November as a national day of Thanksgiving.

  4. President Roosevelt tried to change the date. • In the 1930’s he tried to slide it forward by a week to extend the Christmas shopping season, but without success. • Later during Roosevelt’s administration, in 1941, Congress declared the fourth Thursday in November to be the legal Holiday known as Thanksgiving.

  5. Pumpkin hummus • Ingredients: • 1 ounce can of chick peas(garbanzo beans) in their juice. • 3 medium cloves garlic, minced. • I can pumpkin puree(not pumpkin filling) • 3 lemons, juiced • 1/3 cup tahini or sesame past • 1/3 parsley, finely chopped • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper. • 1 ¼ tablespoon cummin • Salt to taste • Pumpkin seeds for garnish. • Steps: • Put everything into a food processor and pulse until smooth. • Put the pure in a bowl • Garnish with pumpkin seeds • Serving suggestions: • As entrée or side dish, as entrée to be served with pita chips or crackers.
