  3. Academics • N. Ireland: From Conflict to Peace—3 credit hours—classroom instruction at UCD, QUB &UUM • Experiential Learning in N. Ireland—3 credit hours—hands on learning at various historical and cultural sites.

  4. Course Requirements • Academic: • Attendance/Participation • Group Presentations • Final Essay Exam • Applied • Attendance/Participation • Guided Journals

  5. Travel, Lodging, and Food • The $3800 fee includes: • Round trip airline tickets between Atlanta and Dublin (if you want to extend your return date, we can do that, but you have to make all your own travel arrangements after you leave SAP) • Lodging for 21 nights • All breakfasts, weekday lunches, 4 dinners • Transportation between cities and admission to all historical/cultural sites. • Health/Travel Insurance • Textbook • You pay for 6 hours of tuition which covers classes.

  6. Miscellaneous info • Spending money ($500 minimum) • Safety • N. Ireland Culture • Taxis • Vocabulary Words (avoid: pants, ride, fanny)

  7. Schedule—Week 1—Dublin • Lodging: Montrose Hotel • Classes: University College Dublin • Sites Visited: St. Stephen’s Green, GPO, O’Connell St., Trinity College, Grafton Street, Guinness Brewery, Boyne Valley, Newgrange, Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, Amnesty International, Cairde

Schedule—Week 2—Belfast • Lodging: Paddy’s Backpackers or Tara Lodge • Classes: Queen’s University Belfast • Sites: Botanic Gardens, Ulster Museum, City Hall, Political Offices, Murals, Falls/Shankill Neighborhoods, Titanic Quarter, Stormont, Odyssey, N. Antrim Coast, Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Giant’s Causeway, Bushmills, Culturlan

  9. Schedule—Week 3—Derry • Lodging: St. Columb’s Park House • Classes: University of Ulster, Magee Campus • Sites: INCORE, City Walls, Murals/Neighborhoods, Civil Rights/Bloody Sunday Museum, Derry Mural Artists Workshop, Florence Court, Castle Coole, Free Derry Corner, Chamber of Commerce, Guild Hall

  11. Costs and Deadlines • January 31—Completed application, $800 deposit • February 15 ($2000 via Go Solar) • April 15 ($1000 via Go Solar) • May 1 (all required forms and payments must be in, or you don’t get to go!)
