College and career readiness initiative: mathematics faculty collaborative “Ready, Set, Go: The Top Ten Things You Should Know About CCRS” • a ten part series of seminars • focused on understanding the development, incorporation, and impact of the College and Career Readiness Standards • each seminar addressed a specific objective and yielded a related product

  3. “Ready, set, go: the top ten things you should know about ccrs” Learning Academy Seminars • Changing from TAKS to EOC – Presented by Dr. Bryan Nankervis and Mrs. Erika Pierce

  4. “Ready, set, go: the top ten things you should know about ccrs” • Mentoring/Field-Based Experience-Summer 2010 • Alternative to attending the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching (CAMT) • Participants required to complete 4 seminars • Aligning Developmental Math to CCRS • Including CCRS into Pre-Service Programs • Understanding the Cross Discipline Nature of CCRS – Math/ Science Cross Discipline • Understanding the Cross-Discipline Nature of CCRS – Technology

College and career readiness initiative: mathematics faculty collaborative “An Investigation of Texas Mathematics CCRS Themes in Teacher Preparation” Goal: To conduct a research project that investigates the effectiveness of mathematics teacher preparation programs’ instruction of three fundamental mathematics strands: problem solving and reasoning, technology, and functions.

  7. “An investigation of Texas mathematics ccrs themes in teacher preparation” Mentoring/Field-Based Experience – Fall 2010 • Research Group facilitated by Dr. Selina Mireles • Participants were required to • Find articles related to strands: technology, problem solving and reasoning and functions • Reference articles using APA format • Submit a brief report on each article • Identify performance indicators in CCRS pertaining to each strand • Present findings at end-of-semester seminar
