  2. Italy! This country is well known for places like Venice and the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Cooking is another thing the Italians have mastered. Lots of their dishes have become very popular in other countries. Most people will know that Italy also won The World Cup in 2006.

  3. Cash! However, in January 2002 this all changed. Many countries (excluding ourselves) changed their currency to the euro. For many years the currency of Italy was the Lira. If your pocket money was £5.00 a week. This would be equal to 7 and a half euros. One pound would be equivalent to 1 and a half euros.

  4. mmm...... The food in Italy is one of the finest in the world. They are known for the… Pasta, is one of the most commonly served dishes, in Italy and other countries. Pizza. Now more popular in England than Italy. Bit of a sweet tooth? Ice-cream is big in this country. It is one of the sweetest in the world!

  5. Snapshot The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Designed to be vertical, though the ground it was built on was too soft (not because all the chubby Italians ran to one side). Therefore it leans “slightly”. Rome, being the capital of Italy, has the Coliseum. This building was once used to feed Christians to the lions. Now an extremely popular tourist attraction. “The Sinking City” as it is called by most travel agents, well known for gondola rides down the canals. Partly submerged under water, this city is a popular attraction.

  6. Language Obviously the language in Italy is Italian, here are some “everyday” tourist phrases. How are you?= Come siete? Good morning=Buona mattina Where are the toilets, please?=Dove sono le tolette, per favore? Where’s the nearest pub?=Dove e la pubblicazione piu vicina? Speak English please?=Parli per favore inglese? Can’t get a decent cup of tea anywhere!=Non puo ottenere una tazza di te decent dovunque! Hope I get a good level for this!= La speranza I otteine un buon livello per questo! Goodbye!=Arrivederci!
