  2. INTRO • Alexander Graham bell was the inventor of the telephone. I chose him because I think a lot of people would be interested in hearing his story.

  3. CHILDHOOD • Alexander Graham Bell was born in Scotland in 1847. He learned to play the piano and was interested in science.

  4. FAMILY • Alex’s father was a teacher. He taught people how to speak well. Alex’s mother was deaf, but she was still able to teach him how to play the piano.

  5. THE ROAD TO FAME I • Alex liked to invent things. He was very interested in sound. He invented a machine that could talk. He also tried to make his dog talk!

  6. THE ROAD TO FAME II • Alex moved to Boston in 1871. There, he taught deaf students how to speak. He did many experiments with sound.

  7. The ROAD TO FAME III • Alex liked to invent things. He was very interested in sound . He invented a machine that could talk. He also tried to make his dog talk. Alexander moved to Boston in 1871. There, he taught deaf students how to speak. He did many experiments with sound.

  8. THE ROAD TO FAME IIII In 1874, he met Tom Watson. Alex wanted to learn more about electricity. Tom knew all about electricity. They became a team. Alexander stopped teaching. He and Tom wanted to make a machine that could send voices from one place to another.

  9. SUCCESS! • On march 10, 1876, Alex spoke to tom through the first telephone. They had reached their goal!

  10. AFTERWARDS • Alex and tom made the telephone better and better. Soon it could send voices from very long distances. They made the first telephone Call across the united states in 1915.

  11. DEATH • Alex spent the rest of his life inventing. He died in 1922. Alexander changed the way people communicate today.
