  4. Inspiration & Motivation Lucien Lelong, Bijoux Boucheron, 1937 Before I originally wanted to become an architect. I am known now for my photographs of women and fashion, but also still life. My work reflects on my interest for surrealism and the ancient Greek ideal of physical beauty. “I don’t think photography has anything remotely to do with the brain. It has to do with eye appeal.” – Horst P. Horst Peony in Broken Blue Vase, 1986

  5. How I do it Round the Clock I, 1987 Marlene Dietrich 1942 When I moved to Oyster Bay, New York. I designed myself a studio. When I photograph, I prepare the shoot by using a lot of dramatic lighting, backlighting and props. I rarely make my photos include shadows falling on my background. Most of my work is in black & white. I try to create a parallel universe to make them mysterious and alluring, even elegant. Which became my signature. Most iconic, Horst P.
