  1. OGSA Fundamental Services: Requirements for Commercial GRID Systems Presented by Aravind Reddy Patlola Group: Bhavani Prasad , Seema, Sushil, Manali, Aravind.

  2. Motivation For system integrators, constructing heterogeneous systems is very difficult. Problems: End-to-end performance predictions and guarantees, Ensuring 24/7 availability, Provisioning so as to avoid the internet spike problem.

  3. It is almost impossible to design and construct robust IT systems in a timely manner. Reason: Often robustness suffers, hence we see almost weekly reports of service disruptions due to malfunctioning IT systems. Another problem is that IT system customers are not interested in the mechanics of the IDC’s (Internet Data Centers). They are only interested in SLA’s (Service Level Agreements).

  4. Goal: To ensure high performance and high availability in an extremely heterogeneous and distributed environment.

  5. System Configuration Management Services • Resource instrumentation management services • System configuration management Services

  6. Job Execution Management Services • Distributed Job Management services • Scheduling Services • Distributed Workflow Services • Reliable Messaging Services
