  1. Why is Christmas so Special? Christmas is a religious and cultural festival celebrated on December 25, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a public holiday in many countries. The traditions vary among billions of people around the world. Xmas is thought to be a wonderful time like family togetherness, Christmas carols, special cake, decorations etc.,

  2. Decorations The interior and exterior of houses are decorated during the weeks before Christmas. The Christmas tree is decorated with ornaments, tinsel and lights, with an angel or a star at the top. Special thing in United states and Canada is, Christmas tree farms provide families with trees. Many prefer for the real ones and some will like the artificial trees.

  3. Special Gifts It is believed that Santa Claus will visit homes while children are sleeping during the night before Christmas morning. Friends and family members exchange gifts and they wont open it before Christmas morning. They enjoy presenting gifts and greetings which is filled with surprises.

  4. Special Food Christmas Cookies, Candy and Cake are the very special food on Christmas. And there are huge number of special food prepared in different countries in different taste.

  5. How do people celebrate Xmas? • Special prayers are given high priority on xmas. • Wearing new dresses are special thing often. • People used to donate needy and poor on this day by giving dresses and food for them. • Stories in bible about Christ birth are taught to kids in many families. • In many schools and colleges they will do dramas and skits on Christ birth. • Many will visit their grandparents to get blessings from them. • People who are not near their hometown will send greetings and gifts to their beloved ones.
