Pro-Poor Legislative and Executive Development for Social Justice and Basic Needs

This document outlines a comprehensive approach to poverty reduction in the Philippines, focusing on social justice and basic needs. It identifies six fundamental tasks aimed at upliftment, including job creation in agriculture, enhanced microfinancing for small enterprises, and the provision of clean water and affordable healthcare. Notably, it highlights the alarming poverty rates among Filipino families, particularly in rural areas and specific provinces. Legislative proposals and a pro-poor budget aim to address both income and non-income dimensions of poverty, promoting education, health, and overall human security.
