  2. Involves the mathematics leaders in 22 large, urban districts. Participating districts encompass roughly 50% of students in the nation’s urban school districts. Housed at the UT Dana Center; funded by grants from Dana, Gates, and Carnegie Foundations. Partners include the Aspen Institute and Achieve, Inc. Activities include networking, tool development, and advocacy. Connection with Aspen Institute-based networks: superintendents, literacy leaders, chief academic officers Urban Mathematics Leadership Network

Speaking to the special mathematics needs and contexts of urban districts. Tool development: engineering joint solutions to commonly held problems. Growing to include new districts and to make connections with other district curriculum leaders. Advocacy: speaking to the special mathematics needs and contexts of urban districts on behalf of the mathematics leaders in those districts. An Evolving Network
