So Why The iPod Touch • At first very suspicious • Thought of it as a toy for young people • Now I am a true believer in what potential it has in education at all levels • I feel the true advantage of the iPod Touch is the way in which applications are developed and able to be accessed • My one real disappointment with the Tablet PC is there has been so little Tablet specific software written to take advantage of the power of the Tablet PC • Not so with the iPod Touch

  25. Important Points • The iPod Touch has 802.11 WiFi capability built into it • There are truly thousands of applications that have been and continue to be developed to take full advantage of the device • The iPod Touch is not a cell phone and it does not have a camera • The iPod Touch as of today cannot yet project it’s image (without the help of Epson)

  26. Envision the Possibilities • Not only all of the applications that are available but think of • WiFi any where available • Think of all of the podcasts that are either available or that you or your students could produce • Streaming video from many sources even You Tube

  31. There is a Timer and Clock That Comes Delivered on the iPod Touch (App) • Notice the features including World Clock, Alarm, Stop Watch and Timer • Interface is very simple and intuitive

  32. Stop Watch & World Clock

  33. Setting the Timer • The timer is able to set for varying times • Notice the type of sound that plays once the time has elapsed is able to change also • The spinner is common on many of the iPod Touch applications
