  2. Geometric Sequences 12-2 Pre-Algebra In a geometric sequence, the ratio of one term to the next is always the same. This ratio is called the common ratio. The common ratio is multiplied by each term to get the next term.

She has the option of earning (1) $50 per sale or (2) $1 for the first sale, $2 for the second sale, $4 for the third sale and so on, where each sale is worth twice as much as the previous sale. If Siobhan estimates that she can sell 10 computers a week, which option should she choose? If Siobhan chooses $50 per sale, she will get a total of 10($50) = $500.
