Write the following in your agenda: Topic: Compare and Order Integers Learning Objective: Students will discover absolute value by comparing and ordering integers on a number line.

A sentence that compares two different numbers or quantities is called an inequality. They contain symbols like < and >. The mathematical term for distance from zero on a number line is absolute value. Since absolute value represents distance, it can never be negative.
