VOTER PARTICIPATION & ENGAGEMENT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT (ROV): My Ballot Program: Results • 3000 - students participated • 1500 - ballots cast during Homecoming election • 650 - young poll worker leads • 2008 – Anaheim HS • Loara HS (10/2010; 10/2011; 3/2012; 10/2012) • 7850 - students participated • 2185 - ballots cast during school election • 982 - young poll worker leads

VOTER PARTICIPATION & ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES: • Year-round election material in all 5 languages (DOJ) • Voter Registration forms and ROV brochures - make available at all city community centers, libraries, etc. year-round • Increase social media (twitter etc.) • Partner with youth groups • Anaheim Magazine • Provide more early voting sites • Target inactive and casual voters • Target poll voters – increase Vote-by-Mail • Identify large city events – ROV mobile unit

VOTER PARTICIPATION & ENGAGEMENT 2012 Election Data – 60.1% Turnout 71% Turnout (43,246 Registered) 55% Turnout (43,430 Registered) 56% Turnout(49,664 Registered) 55% Turnout (15,331 Registered) Overall Turnout Over Past 3 Election • 2012 – 60.1% (2 seats; Presidential) • 2010 – 48.4% (3 seats; 2 measures) • 2008 – 65.4% (2 seats; Presidential)
