  3. Political Life • Before Governor • Peter served VT. House of Reps. and senate • Then Served on town’s select board • He was appointed to empty seat in VT House of Reps. in 1990 • Shumlin then Served on the Rules, Finance, Appropriations, and the Transportation committees. Election • He Faced Brian Dubiein in 2010 • He Won by 4,000 votes.

  5. Contribution to American way of life • Peter broughta new Energy Center to VT. • He’s holding the Energy Center at the university of Vermont.

  6. Lasting Importance • Peter Shumlin is a Green Governor and he his part of the Democratic Party. His priorities include Jobs, Healthcare, Connect Vermont, Reducing Recidivism and Investigating Pre-K Education, Revitalizing Agriculture in VT, and the Energy and Environment.
