The Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.: Life, Dreams, and the Fight for Equality

Martin Luther King Jr., born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, became a pivotal figure in the Civil Rights Movement. He inspired countless people with his dream of equality and integration, famously expressing his vision in the "I Have a Dream" speech. His non-violent protests, including sit-ins and bus boycotts, challenged segregation and injustice. Tragically, he was assassinated on April 4, 1968, by James Earl Ray. King's powerful message of love and service lives on, as he wished to be remembered for his commitment to aiding others and fighting for freedom.
