  6. Academic Excellence (con’t) V a l s Planner and Binder Use • Students write their assignments with due date(s) in a planner throughout each day. The papers stored in their binders behind each divider may or may notbe part of their assigned work. • Please always refer to the planner for nightly assignment’s due. The binders are used to store and to organize both homework AND on-going lessons. Many times, those lessons include incomplete worksheets that we are working on together as a whole class. • When we are done with on-going work, it will be moved to the left-at-home pocket. Work Collection • Students are generally not permitted to turn-in completed work early. Work will be collected in the morning on the day it is due. • My policy on no early collection is one that helps the kids become more responsible for tracking and for organizing their work. • As the year progresses, you will find that some assignments are allotted a few days or more for completion. This type of homework may be completed all in one night or spread out over the time given before due date. My only expectation is that the completed work is turned into me on the morning it is due.
