  1. College Opportunity Grant Awarding $500 dollars in financial aid to students with these requirements: Be a recipient of the Pell Grant for the term in which COG is sought with a $0 EFC, as calculated by the FAFSA; Be enrolled as a full-time (12 hours) undergraduate student in a degree-seeking program; Be a resident of Georgia 12 months prior to the term for which aid is sought; Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen; Complete Community Service requirements at a Non-Profit organization after July 1, 2010.

  2. Volunteer • Opportunities to volunteer at the St. Joseph home for Boy’s will be available next week for those who are interested. Maximum is 3 volunteers per visit. • Volunteer opportunities with the “Keeping Bulloch County Beautiful” agency will also be available shortly upon scheduled date • Look out for information on both via text message , org sync, and Georgia Southern email.

  3. Students must complete the GSFC Community Service Certification Form prior to receiving an award • Form can be found by going on the financial aid page of Georgia Southern website. • Type in “College Opportunity Grant” • Navigate to the page and scroll to the bottom of the page. • Information about this grant will be there as well as the “url” to the application. • Fill out the application and bring it to me for a signature.

  4. GSU POLICIES • Student leaders cannot sign off any volunteer hours to non active members of that organization. • Requirements have been mentioned in order to be considered an active member. • Basics include: • Register on org sync and request to join Dream Team so we can monitor your due payments and hours and record them. • Dues must be paid. • Volunteer service participation is required • Application must be filled out and turned in for record keeping.

  5. Donations are being accepted Thanks to all who have donated and who are planning to donate. We are trying to raise 500 lbs of canned foods for the Statesboro Food Bank

  6. Audition Venue: Education Bldg Auditorium Room 1115 Everyone is Welcome to attend either to watch or to audition. One or two volunteer will be needed to take pictures and/or record the audition. Date: Monday 28th 2011 at 7:00-9:00. Tuesday March 1st at 6:00-8:00. Audition applications are available on org sync in the Quake folder under the files section. Application can be brought on the first day Performers will be there, ready to go at around 6:30.

  7. Quake: GSU Underground • Event will be held on MARCH 26th, 2011. • Location – Russell Union Ballroom. • Time of event – 7:00 – 9:00. • Quake contract is online on org sync under files in the Quake folder • Volunteers will be needed here as well so sign up now to earn your hours. • Promotions will start shortly after auditions.

  8. Fundraising for Quake Table setups will be planned for some type of fundraising for there will be opportunities to volunteer for that. Information will be finalized when plans are set in stone. Proceeds of quake event will be going to Joseph Boys Home as well as the Battered Women Shelter.
