  6. Significant Water Withdrawal Facility IC 15-25-7-15 • Since 1986 the Division of Water has registered and monitored water withdrawal facilities with the capability of withdrawing more than 100,000 gallons water/day

  7. Indiana Code 14-25-4: Water Rights: Emergency Regulation • Provides for “Timely and Reasonable Compensation” to owners of domestic wells affected by high capacity ground-water pumpage • Provides for restrictions on high capacity ground-water pumpage under certain conditions

  8. IC 14-25-5:Emergency Regulation of Surface Water Rights Provides protection for owners of freshwater lakes against impacts of significant water withdrawal facilities Significant lowering of lake level must be documented Water level lowering must result in significant environmental harm

IC 14-25-2Minimum Stream Flow and Water Sale Contracts • State of Indiana may sell water for water supply purposes: • from reservoir impoundments financed by the state. • for a period of not more than 50 years. • at the rate of thirty-three dollars ($33) per onemillion (1,000,000) gallons of water.
