Revamped EA: Scenario • Revamped Early Alert Program to address shortcomings expressed by instructors and students. Among the potential solutions being explored are the following: • Moving from a paper-and-pencil student evaluation roster to an online-based student evaluation allowing individual customization (for instructor and student); • Allowing instructors to identify and assess only at-risk students when necessary; • Allowing instructors to provide timely feedback directly to students by means of email or printed letters that can be delivered to the student in class; • Allowing instructors, counselors, and other campus programs to follow up with instructor recommendations and maintain contact with identified students; • Tracking all sources of student contact (e.g., meetings with counselors, workshops attended, tutoring attendance) after initial identification to prepare and easily present reports on such things as the impact of early alert on student success indicators individually, by group, etc.
