Consultation on Healthwatch Leicestershire 1st August – 19th September 2012 Get Involved with It explains what Healthwatch Leicestershire is, and tells you where you can get some more information In August and September, we are running a consultation on Healthwatch Leicestershire This is an easy to read consultation guide about Healthwatch Leicestershire What is a consultation? A consultation is when groups and communities can tell us what they think about things We would like you to tell us what you think about our plans

  2. Consultation on Healthwatch Leicestershire What is Healthwatch Leicestershire? Healthwatch Leicestershire is a new group that will allow people who live in Leicestershire to tell us what they think about Health and Social Care services in Leicestershire Healthwatch will start next year, in April 2013 April 2013 Healthwatch Healthwatch will be independent. This means that Healthwatch Leicestershire will not be controlled by one group or person It’s job will be to listen to what people say about Health and Social Care Services in Leicestershire Healthwatch Leicestershire will be able to tell the people who provide services how they can make their services better

  3. We would like you to tell us what you think of our plans for Healthwatch LeicestershireWe have thought about a Vision for Healthwatch Leicestershire. A Vision is what we would like Healthwatch Leicestershire to be like What do you think? Vision Our vision is to listen to what people in Leicestershire tell us. It is also to improve Health and Social Care services for everyone Healthwatch Leicestershire will tell the people who provide services when things go wrong Healthwatch Leicestershire will work with other groups and organisations to decide what is important The things that you tell us will help us to make sure things get better We will speak to user groups to make sure our information is right

  4. We have developed some Principals for Healthwatch Leicestershire. Principals are like Rules Rules 1. ~~ 2. ~~~ 3. ~~~ There are 3 Rules for Healthwatch Healthwatch Leicestershire Rule number 1: It will be independent This means that nobody can tell Healthwatch Leicestershire what they should say or do Rule number 2: It will be representative This means that we will listen to what people who live in Leicestershire tell us, and do what they ask us to do Rule number 3: It will be accountable This means telling people what Healthwatch Leicestershire has done, and show that things are getting better

  5. Consultation Healthwatch Leicestershire How will Healthwatch Leicestershire work? Healthwatch Leicestershire will have a list of what is important which everyone agrees to There will be some rules about how everyone works together We will check what we are doing every year to make sure it is working

  6. How can I take part in the Consultation on Healthwatch Leicestershire? There are some meetings that you can go along to 29th August 2012, 1.30pm – 3.30pm The Moira Centre, Moira Street, Loughborough 29thAugust 3rd September 2012, 4.00pm – 6.00pm Basset Centre, Basset Street, Wigston 3rd September 4th September 2012, 2.00pm – 4.00pm George Ward Centre, Church Lane, Barwell 4th September
