On October 20, 2012, Texas Tech faced TCU in a heart-pounding Big 12 showdown that stretched into three overtimes. After years away from the game, the excitement of victory was palpable as the home team battled against tough odds. From missed kickoffs to a nail-biting final touchdown, the atmosphere was electric. With fans cheering and hope for playoffs lingering, Tech overcame adversity to clinch a dramatic 56-53 victory. This unforgettable game reignited the spirit of college football and solidified my love for the Red Raiders.

3OT Missed kickoff. Fields of green. Smells of scholastics fill the scene. My favorite team strides across the field. Hopes of playoffs fill my head. The Big 12 just took this new team. Tech hasn’t played TCU since 2006. I haven’t been to a game for five years. But this is no time for a mix. We must win. Tech will experience a WIN. This W will be a big W. The 3rd quarter had us all bored in our seats, and the 4th quarter led to a period of near defeat. Constant reminders of 30 second time outs. As the first OT began, I felt my heart pounding and heard all the cheers of die-hard fans. As the scoreboard changed over to 2OT, I stood and yelled with my guns in the air. When TCU kicked the lone field goal in 3OT, I knew that in this moment, Tech could defeat. They cornered that last touchdown for a 56-53 game. TCU got beat. Tech won. I won. 3OT.
