  1. Setting up a Google Places listing for your business

  2. Google Places A Google Places listing allows you to put important information about your business online. This information appears on Google Maps and appears prominently in search results. You can include store hours, photos, video, and customers can leave reviews for others to see!

  3. Step One: Find Your Business Go to Google and search for your business

  4. Step One: Find Your Business Click Here Google may already have a listing for your business. To claim an existing listing and add information, click “Place Page.”

  5. Step Two: Edit Your Listing Click Here To claim an existing listing, select Business Owner

  6. Weren’t Listed? If you’re business wasn’t listed, don’t worry. You can add your listing once you sign in to Google Places in the next step. Once logged in, follow the steps below Enter in your business phone number Select Claim Listing if Google found a match. Otherwise select Add Listing and enter in your information

  7. Step Two: Edit Your Listing Log In Or… You’ll have to login with a Google (Gmail) Account. If you don’t have one, create one at the bottom right.

  8. Step Two: Edit Your Listing After selecting an existing listing and logging in, you’ll see this screen Choose This Option

  9. Step Two: Edit Your Listing Is your store at the right spot on the map? If not, click here Click on each category to add information, store hours, payment information, photos of your store, and other details. Once finished, click Submit

  10. Step Two: Edit Your Listing Be sure to use your store’s physical street address. This listing information appears on Google Maps

  14. Step Three: Validate Your Listing - If you can’t be at your store to answer the phone, choose postcard verification - If your mailing address is different than your physical address, choose phone verification

  15. Step Three: Validate Your Listing Once you’ve received your PIN via phone or postcard, enter it in here. If you’ve navigated away from this page, Sign In to your Places Account at www.Google.com/places to get to this screen.

  16. You’re Done! The Places Listing may take up to 2 weeks to show up on Google This listing will be among the first things that come up on a Google search when people look for your product or service in your town!

  17. To log in to your account Visit www.Google.com/places and Sign In

  18. Dashboard The Dashboard is what you see when first logging in

  19. Adding Posts • To add a post to your listing, such as “10% off now through Sunday!” type in the post box and hit Post • Visitors will see this when they find your listing on Google, and the post lasts for 30 days. Clear it any time by selecting ‘Delete’

  20. Edit your Listing To make changes to your information, add a photo, a website link, etc. click Edit

  21. Coupons You can even add coupons to your listing for customers to print off and bring in! Just clickCoupons at the top, select Add a coupon now, and fill in the information on the next page!
