CONTD/. • Now Our department is functioning with the deficit of Rs.6641 crores. • Our responsibility is to raise our income by marketing products & services • To survive among competitors like • Insurance competitors • Private couriers • Banks • Private concerns sending and receiving money • Mutual funds

  4. Basic Marketing Concepts • Anything that has a value can be marketed • Marketing should be done based on • Needs, wants & demands • Product • Value & Satisfaction • Exchange, Transactions & Relationships • Markets

  5. How do you start? • Prepare a list • Financial Services • Premium products • Tie up services • Philately • NPS • RPLI/PLI • Understand our products and services • Study special rates, schemes, rebates etc • Prepare list of potential customers • Identify the services suitable to them

CONTD/- • Maintain liaison with members of public in your jurisdiction • Prepare a list of institutions, offices, companies etc • Ensure it is incorporated in the beat/route list • Keep track of newly opened organizations in your jurisdiction • Obtain feed back from customers • Now a days, Important Industries/companies are opened/shifted in rural areas[outer areas]

CONTD/- • Keep contact details of all MEs of your division/RO etc ready • Keep contact details of PLI/RPLI development officers • Keep brochures/pamphlets developed by RO/DO handy • Introduce yourself to staff/manager etc of the institutions in your jurisdiction • Introduce yourself to local prominent persons • Keep watch on competitor’s marketing strategy.

CONTD/- • Inform ME/Development officer about new business opportunities • Choose & canvas the correct products to the employees of the companies/Industries • Assist in conducting campaigns/carnivals/Mela etc • Always present a smart & professional appearance • Utilize the opportunity of meeting depositors for PB verification positively

  9. Appearance • Your appearance is a helping aspect to market • Dress neatly • Wear • Ironed uniform clothes with LOGO • Department ID cards • Neat Hair styles • Gentle behavior with a smiling face • Answer the queries raised by the customers politely • Carry smart accessories with you
